On this day the sun begins to move from north to south with a view of the earth. That is, the sun, which had hitherto been in front of the northern hemisphere, begins to move towards the southern hemisphere. From a yoga standpoint this is a transition period, meaning it is a better time for change. Also, June 21 is the longest day of the entire calendar year. Nature, the sun and its speed are the most effective on this day.
